02 Cover care instructions
A few habits go a long way to ensure your cover's longevity.
Water and moisture
- Arrange covers so that water runs off freely and does not collect in folds, gathers, or wrinkles, especially over sewn seams.
- Items susceptible to moisture damage should not remain covered for extended periods, as condensation or mildew may occur.
Sun and UV exposure
- Covers will naturally fade and weaken over time when exposed to prolonged sunlight or high temperatures.
- Although materials are UV stabilised, harsh weather conditions may reduce product lifespan.
Cleaning
- Brush regularly with a soft-bristled brush to keep clean.
- Clean with clear cold water. For localised stains, use a neutral detergent mixed with lukewarm water (max 40°C), then rinse thoroughly.
- Covers may also be wiped clean with soap and water.
- Do not use bleach or harsh detergents.
Storage and safety
- Keep solvents, insecticides, petrol, and similar fluids away from the product.
- Ensure the product is completely dry before packing away.

- Secure in windy conditionsSecure tie straps once the cover is fitted to prevent displacement during windy conditions.
- Allow complete coolingCovers for braais or similar items must only be fitted once the item has completely cooled to normal day temperatures.
- Do not exceed weight limitsDo not overload camping, braai, or accessory bags beyond the stated weight limit.

- Confirm dimensions before useAvoid stretching or pulling fabric to force a cover to fit. Confirm dimensions are suitable before use.

How do I clean my covers?
For regular maintenance, simply hose down your covers with water and mild soap. For tougher stains and dirt, use a soft brush and a solution of water and gentle detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the fabric.
How should I store my covers when not in use?
Ensure your covers are completely dry before storing them. Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space. Use breathable storage bags to prevent mold and mildew growth. Avoid airtight plastic bags, which trap moisture.
Can I wash my covers in a washing machine?
No. Machine washing can damage the fabric's water-resistant coating and structural integrity. Always hand-wash or hose down your covers. Refer to the care label on your specific product for instructions.
Can I re-proof the water resistance of my cover?
Over time, the water-resistant coating can diminish with use. You can restore the DWR (Durable Water Repellency) finish by applying a fabric re-proofer spray after cleaning. Follow the product instructions for best results.
