Braai and heating
Braai Covers
The braai is the hardest-working item in the backyard, and rust is its only real enemy. Grids, burners and ash pans all corrode fastest when a braai stands uncovered through rain and coastal air. A Covergard braai cover keeps the works dry, so the next braai starts with a clean grid, not a wire brush.

About this range
Cut for kettle, gas and trolley braais
The range fits kettle braais, gas braais with side burners, and freestanding units on trolleys, each cut with the right footprint and height rather than a loose one-size drape. The fabric is UV-stabilised and water-resistant, with a breathable weave that lets residual heat and moisture escape. Cover the braai once it's cool to the touch, and the cover does the rest. From weeknight gas braais to the Weber that only comes out for the rugby, there's a fitted cover in the range.
Braai Covers questions
How soon after braaing can I put the cover on?
Let the braai cool until the lid and body are cool to the touch, usually a couple of hours after the coals die. The fabric tolerates warmth but isn't designed to sit against a hot kettle, and covering a hot braai traps moisture-laden air against the metal.
Does the cover fit over the gas bottle and side burner?
Covers for gas braais are sized for the full unit: trolley, side burner shelf and the bottle in its cradle. Check the listed width against your braai with the shelves in their normal position.
Can you make a cover for a built-in braai?
Built-in braais vary too much for off-the-shelf sizes, so they're a made-to-measure job: a fitted front-drop cover for the opening, or a full cover for an island unit. Send the dimensions through the made-to-measure enquiry for a quote.
