Trailer Covers

A trailer spends most of its life parked, and that is where it rusts. Water sits in the load bed, sun perishes the tyres and the lights, and dust works into the coupling and the wiring plug until the one weekend you need it, something has seized. A Covergard trailer cover keeps the bed dry and the fittings out of the sun, so a trailer that stands for months still hitches up and tows.

About this range

Sized for Venter trailers and more

The range covers the Venter models most South African driveways have, from the Bushbaby and the Mossie up through the 1/2, 3/4 and 1 Ton, along with the Wilderness 410. Universal covers handle everything else in 5, 6 and 7 foot lengths, and each size comes in four fabrics so you can match the cover to how the trailer lives: HDPE and ripstop for a trailer parked outside year-round, nylon and PVC where shedding water matters more than breathability. Anything unusual, a boat trailer, a car trailer, a custom build, is a made-to-measure job.

Trailer Covers questions

Do you make covers for Venter trailers?

Yes, and they are cut to the model rather than draped over it. The range covers the Venter Bushbaby, the Mossie, and the 1/2 Ton, 3/4 Ton and 1 Ton, plus the Wilderness 410. Pick your model from the listings below. If you are not sure which one you own, the model name is usually on the plate at the front of the load bed.

How do I choose between a 5, 6 and 7 foot universal cover?

Measure the inside length of the load bed, front wall to tailgate, and round up to the next size. A cover slightly longer than the bed is right; a tight one strains at the corners and tears first. If your trailer sits between two sizes, the larger cover with the straps pulled in works better than the smaller one stretched.

Can I leave the cover on while I tow?

These are parking and storage covers, not towing covers. At highway speed the airflow over an open load bed lifts anything that is not purpose-strapped, and a cover that works loose is a hazard behind you. Take it off before you hitch up, and put it back on when the trailer is parked.
